I know what you’re thinking. This whole clean eating things sounds nice and all, but what it also sounds like is that I’ll be stuck in the kitchen cooking for hours on end, right? Wrong! With a little planning, clean eating will mean nutritious (and quick) meals for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The key is to keep things streamlined and hassle-free by creating shopping lists for the week or month. Also try making meals in bulk and refrigerate/freeze them so that you can mix and match foods throughout the week. This way, you don’t have to spend a huge amount of time in the kitchen stressing out each day about what to eat. And for those of you gripe about healthy eating being more expensive, research actually shows that foods from convenience stores are less healthy and more expensive than a well-budgeted and planned out menu from items purchased in a grocery store. So the next time you hit the grocery store, remember the general rule of “eat it if it grew from the ground and if it had a mother.” Another great clean eating tip is to restrict your shopping to the perimeter of the grocery store. That’s where you’ll find most of the real, whole foods.
Give It A Shot
The whole concept of clean eating is pretty simple. So if you’re looking to lose weight, boost your energy levels, and just feel better overall, I’d highly recommend that you start trading in the processed stuff for more whole foods. I promise you, no one ever gets fat (or has difficulty losing weight) when their diet is crammed with things like water, vegetables, fruits, beans, and lean meats. But millions of people have blown up and will continue to balloon in size from drinking tons of sugary beverages and eating tons of the processed junk we call “food.” So just do yourself a huge favor now, and start eating as close to nature as possible. It really is one of the best moves you can make towards better health. Plus, clean eating is hands down the best “diet” for losing weight and keeping it off. – Doc
