Rachel Johnson Pushes Through to Find Success!

FB_IMG_1431737729510 (1)“This time last year I was at my highest weight, close to 170 pounds. I am 5’4 and based on my age, which was 43 at the time, height and weight, I was considered overweight. I became depressed, yet motivated. I started to walk several days a week then began to run. In July of 2014, I decided to join a gym. I was somewhat skeptical because I wasn’t comfortable in a gym environment. I made the decision to commit to getting in shape, as well as change my diet. I became a Vegetarian. My body began to make noticeable changes and the pounds started to shed.  On October 19, 2014 while at the gym, I suddenly became dizzy, disoriented, sweating profusely and experienced shortness of breath. Rushed to the ER, after lots of tests, not only did I suffer a mild heart attack, but I was diagnosed with a genetic heart disease. I remember my Cardiologist saying, you have to stay out of the gym indefinitely. I was devastated. I had worked so hard. While recovering at home, I started to walk several miles per day in the park. Thinking about everything I’d been through and putting my life into perspective. I have family to live for. Maybe staying out of the gym is what’s best for me. Those were my daily thoughts, but I knew I couldn’t sit around feeling sorry for myself. With my Dr’s ok, I slowly began working out after only 5 weeks. Fast forward to today, this is how my body’s transformed. I spend 5-6 days a week in the gym weight training. My heart condition is controlled. I am no longer on any medications. Most importantly I’m celebrating my 45 birthday in a little over 2 months. Facebook: Rachel L Johnson as well as Fit and Fabulous after 40.”

Consha (IG @ IamConshay) Weight Loss Story

image1(1)Hi I’m Consha and I’m 25 years old…I’ve pretty much been obese all my life but it got outta hand my 9th Grade Year in High School…where I found out I was 300lbs…from there I desired to lose weight but emotional  eating took control…My Mom was my inspiration….Studying to become a  Nurse and interacting with people at work explaining the risks of their overall health is My Motivation and STILL is…Changing my eating habits took some time I put myself on a 4/3 ratio…Where I’d eat what I wanted for 4 days and healthy the other 3 days…Now I’m down to one cheat day…I gave up Rice, Bread, Beef & Pork…5 Small Meals Per Day…Protein Shakes after workouts etc…I trained with a Personal Trainer 3 Days a Week and ran on the 4th day…I started at 350lbs…I am now 5’6 and 200lbs it’s taken me about a year and 4 months to get this far…You’re the FIRST example of how the world is supposed to Love you…so be the BEST example ever…Prayer,Consistency, Eyes Forward, & to Believe in themselves is my advice to others…I don’t have a fancy story…JESUS simply keeps me… I am on Instagram @IamConshay

Lena Cheatham’s Weight Loss Story

What continues to inspire me is my purpose in life. I have big goals and I want to be around to fulfill everyone and to do that I had to start taking care of my mind, body, and soul. I believe that everyone has a purpose and you need to have faith despite adversity and to do that you need to be in a constant state of preparation. For example I started off running on weekends in the morning just in my room. I couldn’t afford a gym membership or actual equipment and I was way to insecure to run in my neighborhood. During that time I was 20 and 230lbs just hoping to get rid of my asthma.

image1I would run a half a mile and be exhausted. I didn’t grow up informed on nutrition and health but I believed that the work I was putting in would yield some results. I then went on the Daniel fast with my church and only ate fruits and vegetables (no grains, sugars, meats, and only water, etch). I noticed it helped with my workouts and I felt better in my body. I have since became a Pescatarian (not meats expected fish and other seafood) and over the past 3 years I have lost 60lbs. I run at least a mile every other day and I participate in workout challenges such as the ones you post to help with strength training like the plank, squat, push up, and sit up challenges. I’m also preparing to run a marathon in October. My advice to others would be set a goal and know matter what anyone says if you have faith enough in your goal to prepare and sacrifice as if you already have it you will be unstoppable.
